Vipul is the CEO of HDFC Capital, the real estate private equity arm of HDFC Bank. HDFC Bank is one of the largest private sector banks in India with a market cap of ~US$ 120 Bn. He has been part of the HDFC Group for over 25 years and manages one of India’s largest real estate funds focused on funding affordable and mid-income housing.
Vipul has managed funds across multiple strategies including equity, credit, mezzanine financing, and associated technology businesses. Over the last two decades, he has been part of more than US$5 billion of real estate investments across 250+ projects in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities in India. Funds managed by him have delivered returns exceeding 20%.
Vipul is widely regarded as an affordable housing expert and has received multiple industry accolades.
He has also been a speaker at the World Bank Affordable Housing Conference and a guest lecturer at MIT (USA), University of Oxford, and IIM Bangalore. Vipul plays an active role in policymaking at central and state levels. He serves on multiple SEBI, RBI, and IVCA committees and is the Co-Chairman of the Urban Development and Real Estate Committee at FICCI. Vipul runs a food club on Indian cuisine, is an avid traveller, and enjoys mythology.
Pushkar Kulkarni is Managing Director and Head of Infrastructure & Sustainable Energies, India. He established the firm’s Infrastructure practice in India and leads origination, execution and portfolio management across Infrastructure & Energy sub-sectors. Prior to joining CPP Investments, Pushkar was a Managing Director at Serco in India and has worked across the full infrastructure value chain over a 25-plus-year career.
He serves on the Boards of National Highway Infra Investment Managers Pvt. Ltd. (NHIT Inv. Manager) and ReNew Energy Global Plc. He is also on the Advisory Board of National Investment & Infrastructure Fund Ltd. (NIIF). Pushkar holds a B.Eng. (Electronics) from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute in Mumbai and an MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai.
