Hideki Yano has over 40 years of experience in real estate investment, development, and asset management in Japan and the United States.
From 2015 to 2023, he served as President & CEO of Sumisho Realty Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation, where he grew assets under management to over ¥700 billion through listed and private REITs and separate account mandates.
Earlier in his career at Sumitomo Corporation, he managed a diversified real estate portfolio across Japan and the United States, covering residential, commercial, logistics, and mixed-use assets.
After serving as Director and Head of the Strategic Business Division at ES-CON Japan, he joined Fortress Investment Group (Japan) as Managing Director, where he was seconded to Consonant Investment Management. Since July 2026, he has been seconded to Sogo & Seibu Co., Ltd.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Kyoto University and is a licensed architect in Japan. He is an ARES Certified Master, a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS), an APREA Board Member and Japan Chapter Chairperson, and Co-chair of the RICS Japan Member Engagement Group (MEG).
