APREA Virtual Roadshow – Voice of Real Estate – Session 3: PropTech

Jonathan is a global citizen, having held senior executive and board roles across Asia and Europe in real estate, venture capital, technology and sporting related ventures. 

In 2015 Jonathan jointly founded the Taronga Group with a focus on real estate, venture capital, technology and fund management. Taronga Ventures was launched to build the bridge between institutional and corporate owners of real estate and the emerging growth companies that are now targeting the real estate sector. In 2018 Real Tech Ventures – Asia’s first VC Fund focused on investing into Real Estate technology was launched and the fund has commenced investing.

From 2013-2015, Jonathan was Group Executive, Capital, at Mirvac and was a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Investment Committee, the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Mirvac's ASIC approved Responsible Manager for Mirvac Funds Management Ltd. and also Mirvac's Non Executive Director on Etihad Stadium in Melbourne. 

From 2005-2008 Jonathan was the Portfolio Manager Asia for the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) completing more than 40 transactions across Asia and investing circa US$6B into real estate across all sectors. 
In other roles Jonathan was at Savills (1995-2002) in China, the Philippines and as Managing Director South East Asia based in Singapore as well as a Fund Manager for ING Real Estate (now CBRE Investors). Jonathan speaks Mandarin and Swedish.

Raja is a Co-Founder of Propstack and is responsible for the strategy & overall operations of the firm. Raja has two decades of experience in commercial real estate including transactions, development, equity investment & asset management. Raja has been part of the global PropTech industry since 2013 and has helped Propstack emerge as a leading Real Estate Technology & Data platform.
He is passionate about technology for commercial real estate and has been successfully advising Fortune 500 firms on their real estate digital strategy. Raja’s domain expertise includes developing & implementing technology & digital platforms. He has successfully launched multiple real estate B2B products and established research partnerships with Wharton, MIT Center for Real Estate & Imperial College. He has also effectively used digital data solutions to create efficiency & increase transparency in the industry.
Raja has previously worked with Jones Lang LaSalle as a National Director - Corporate Solutions and had successful stints with Ascendas, Colliers International and Insignia.

Chan Lai Kiu

Dr. Chan is an architect, designer, technology startup founder and artist who bridges the gap between “bricks” and “clicks”. In 2008 to 2014, she was the Director, Design and Project of Hysan Development Co. Ltd, for which she completed Hysan Place and revamped Hysan’s portfolio in Causeway Bay. After leaving Hysan, she co-founded the architectural practice, AMQ which is building the 130m-span Skybridge in HK International Airport, and the multi-disciplinary design firm, arQstudio which integrates technology and multimedia into architecture, interior and products to provide a total experience design solution. She is also qualified by CIC as a BIM Manager in 2019. Before joining Hysan, she was the Design Director of P&T Architects and Engineers, who won numerous local and international design awards for her projects. In 1993, she was the recipient of Hong Kong Young Architect Award. 

In 2015, she won Poly U/ HKSTP Techathon for her aTTempspace idea and started her technology ventures. In 2018, the startup graduated from HKSTP incubation program and won CSAD Social Innovation Award. In 2019, she joined EasyVR which is another technology startup incubated by HKSTP. EasyVR is a 360 and VR versatile editing and sharing platform which enables her to create both real and virtual spaces and gamify spatial experience. 

陳麗喬

陳麗喬博士是一位橫跨科技、建築、藝術界的多重創作及創辦人。2008至2014年，她是希慎興業的建築設計及項目總監，領導團隊完成希慎廣場及多個改建及優化工程。離開希慎後，她先後創立了AMQ建築事務所及跨界別設計公司arQstudio，前者現正於香港國際機場興建130米跨度的Skybridge項目，後者致力結合科技、多媒體於建築、室內、產品內，為業主提供全方位的體驗設計。陳博士更與時並進，於2019年獲CIC的BIM項目經理資格。加入希慎前，她為巴馬丹拿建築師事務所董士，其建築作品，先後獲得多個香港及國際建築大獎。她個人亦於1993年獲香港年青建築師獎。

2015年她組織團隊，以「一鳴空間」概念勝出理大/科學園Techathon 比賽，踏足科技創業，該項目於2018年畢業於香港科學園培育計劃，並在同年獲CSAD兩岸四地社會創新獎。2019年，她成為另一科學園培育初創公司「虛易」的董士，主理業務發展，「虛易」是一個360虛擬空間多功能編輯及分享平台，讓她真正結合建築空間與虛擬空間的創造。

With 30+ years’ experience dedicated to real estate and technology, Bernie is a leader in digital transformation in real estate and using data to create a more competitive and collaborative environment. Currently responsible for the growth of Yardi Systems in Asia Pacific, Bernie lives in Hong Kong and is a qualified accountant and economist.

He supports real estate clients with Retail, Commercial, Industrial, Residential and Mixed-Use assets, helping them to grow their operations, create efficiencies, and gain better insight into their business. His expertise includes asset and investment management, private equity, operations improvement, program and project management, finance, technology implementation and compliance.

Bernie has led large-scale technology projects, as well as led and supported Proptech start-ups, across Australia, the USA, Middle East, Asia and Europe. He has over 60 publications to his name, and extensive public speaking experience. He is actively working with several charities focused on the marine environment and child education in Hong Kong and China.

Deb Noller is a dynamic leader who brings more than 20 years' experience in technology, sustainability and commercial real estate to her role as CEO of the Switch Automation team. She helps large enterprises apply technology for more efficient business operations, resulting in millions of dollars in cost savings for Fortune 500 companies.

Sigrid is the Chief Executive Officer of Asia Pacific Real Estate Association (APREA). Based in Singapore, she is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, initiatives and operations of the association across Asia Pacific.

Sigrid joined APREA’s executive team in January 2019. A recognized expert in global economic, public policy and real estate issues, Sigrid is a frequent speaker at industry events. Her commentary on commercial and residential real estate markets is also regularly featured in a wide array of global publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg, New York Times and Reuters. Additionally, she has made several television appearances on financial networks and radio such as CNBC, Bloomberg, CNN, National Public Radio and Channel News Asia.

Sigrid brings to APREA more than 20 years of experience in economic and real estate research, consulting and business strategy. From 2010 through 2018, she served as Managing Director of Asia Pacific Research and Advisory Services of Cushman & Wakefield (C&W), where she was responsible for research, thought leadership, strategy formulation and client management. Before relocating to Singapore, she was based in Washington, D.C. and led C&W’s U.S. research group in the Mid- Atlantic region, overseeing all aspects of market research activities in the Washington, DC; Virginia; Suburban Maryland, Baltimore; and Philadelphia areas. Prior to joining C&W, Sigrid served as a Senior Economist for the National Association of Realtors (NAR). In that position, she developed NAR’s office, warehouse, retail, multi-family housing, and international research programs.

Sigrid holds a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management and a Master’s degree in Economics from Pennsylvania State University. She is a member of several civic groups including the Rotary Club of Raffles City in Singapore, where she has served in various leadership positions.
