Committee Mission
The mission of the Research & Market Intelligence Committee is to form a thinktank of prominent thought leaders in real estate research across the Asia Pacific. The committee also provides strategic technical advisory to APREA for greater market transparency and state-of-the-art analytics for its members and the industry.
Objectives
- Marketplace trends – real estate markets, capital markets, investment universe
- Real estate as an investment class – the evolving definition of real estate/assets, the case for REITs, FAQs on real estate, real estate myth busters
- Asia Pacific as an investment destination – the Asia pacific investment map and showcase, FAQs
- Real assets and society – our industry’s contribution to economic growth, sustainability, taxation, social dividends and retirement wealth, jobs
- Performance measurement and benchmarking – a program for filling index gaps and rationalising current duplication/confusion
- Public policy – advocate improvements to existing REIT rules in target jurisdictions based on a ‘state of the art’ model, urban policy, tax rules, cross border regimes and funds passports
- Applied academic research – a three-year research program with higher education partners and think tanks
