Yumiko Miwa, Ph.D., has been a Professor at the Faculty of Commerce, Meiji University since 2005. She served as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Michigan from 2006 to 2008. In addition to serving as a board member of several academic associations, she served as an Outside Director of Eisai Co., Ltd. from 2020 to 2025, and currently serves as an Outside Director of Pigeon Corporation and Okuma Corporation. She is also a member of the Investment Committee of the National Federation of Mutual Aid Associations for Municipal Personnel and a member of the Pension Asset Management Advisory Committee of the Pension Fund Association for Local Government Officials.
Her research interests include institutional investors and corporate governance, institutional investor engagement and ESG investment, and the impact of activist investors on corporations. Her major publications include The Development of Institutional Investors and Corporate Governance (Nippon Hyoronsha, 1999) and The Future of Investor Capitalism (Chikura Publishing, 2024).

Kemmu Kawai joined Longevity Partners Japan in September 2022 as the Country Director. Based in Tokyo, he oversees all operations and activities in Japan, the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. He brings him more than 16 years of experience in finance where he specialised in real estate and credit investments. Before joining Longevity Partners, he served as a Portfolio Manager at Norinchukin Bank and as Investment Manager at Center Point Development.
