Sigrid is the Chief Executive Officer of Asia Pacific Real Assets Association (APREA). Based in Singapore, she is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, initiatives and operations of the association across Asia Pacific. Under her leadership, APREA repositioned to an industry trade group focusing on real estate and infrastructure.

Sigrid joined APREA’s executive team in January 2019.

Prior to APREA, she served as Managing Director of Asia Pacific Research and Advisory Services of Cushman & Wakefield (C&W) from 2010 through 2018, where she was responsible for research, thought leadership, strategy formulation and client management.  Before relocating to Singapore, she was based in Washington, D.C. and led C&W’s U.S. research group in the Mid-Atlantic region, overseeing all aspects of market research activities in the Washington, DC; Virginia; Suburban Maryland, Baltimore; and Philadelphia areas. Prior to joining C&W, Sigrid served as a Senior Economist for the National Association of Realtors (NAR). In that position, she developed NAR’s office, warehouse, retail, multi-family housing, and international research programs.

A recognized expert in global economic, public policy and real estate issues, Sigrid is a frequent speaker at industry events.  Her commentary on commercial and residential real estate markets is also regularly featured in a wide array of global publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg, New York Times and Reuters. Additionally, she has made several television appearances on financial networks and radio such as CNBC, Bloomberg, CNN, National Public Radio and Channel News Asia.

Sigrid holds a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management and a Master’s degree in Economics from Pennsylvania State University. She is a member of several civic groups including the Rotary Club of Raffles City in Singapore, where she has served in various leadership positions, and serves in the Executive Committee of the Crohn’s & Colitis Society of Singapore.

Dato’ Stewart LaBrooy is a Board member of the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association (APREA). It is the industry body for the suppliers and users of capital in the real estate sector. He served as the founding Chairman of the Malaysian REIT Managers Association (MRMA), from 2010-2015, an organization he helped set up in 2010 to give Malaysian REIT Managers a single voice for the purpose of engagement with the Regulators and Ministry of Finance.

Dato LaBrooy has been writing on a regular basis on Property and REITs for the local mainstream print and online media for the past five years or so, and is known and recognised as the “REIT Guru” in the country. He is also a prominent speaker on the subject of Industrial Estate Development and Conventional and Islamic REITs in the region, having been invited to deliver papers in Singapore, Hong Kong, Istanbul, New York, London, Saudi Arabia, Philippines and Malaysia.

He was appointed Executive Director of Axis REIT on 22 March 2005 and Chief Executive Office (“CEO”) of Axis REIT since August 2008. Axis REIT was the first REIT to be listed in Malaysia and the first Shariah-compliant industrial REIT in the world. Under his leadership, Axis REIT has won several awards, among them, the APREA Best Practices Award in 2010, 2011 and 2013. Axis REIT has provided its investors with total average returns in excess of 25% over the 10 years he helmed the business and still trades today at a 30% premium to NAV. In 2017 Dato’ LaBrooy formed the world’s first unlisted Shariah compliant Education Asset based REIT- Alpha REIT ,which has a planned listing in 2022. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Dato’ Stewart LaBrooy is the Executive Chairman of AREA Management Sdn. Bhd. a subsidiary of AREA Advisors Pte Ltd (AREA) an appointment he has taken since his retirement as CEO and Executive Director of Axis REIT Managers Bhd (ARMB) on 31 December 2015. With a career spanning over 40 years in the industrial space, he has spent well over a decade since 2005 in heading Axis REIT and establishing REITs as an important component of the capital markets. Dato’ Stewart LaBrooy is also a director of a number of public and private companies involved in property development, services and property investment.

Since its inception, AREA was established as a boutique advisory firm providing advice on investing in industrial properties in Malaysia, UK, Australia and Germany. AREA has decided to expand its advisory role to include funds management. It has since set up a company that will undertake the investment management activities (the AREA Industrial Development Fund 1 (AIDF 1) and AREA Management Sdn Bhd (AMSB) was set up to undertake the management of the projects of the fund in Malaysia. AREA Advisors Pte Ltd was re-designated as the Funds management company. In November 2015 AIDF 1 launched its first maiden project a 1,200,000 sq. ft. e-commerce hub in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

Dato’ Stewart LaBrooy is also a director of a number of public and private companies involved in property development, services and property investment.

Jon Sim has 10 years’ experience in deal advisory, commercial real estate investment and asset management experience. Prior to joining Northmod, he was an investment manager with one of the largest commercial real estate investment trust listed on the Singapore Exchange with USD 2.5 billion assets under management. To date, he has transacted on more than USD1 billion worth of commercial real estate in key Asia Pacific markets in Singapore, Australia, Malaysia and Korea. He was also previously with KPMG Deal Advisory, advising clients on real estate deal structure and execution.

Justin has over a decade’s worth of marketing and sales experience in multiple markets across the APAC region, especially with a focus on the development and research into the Data Centre market.

Since joining the AREA Group, Justin as developed and implemented a comprehensive business development strategy that has led to new investments from leading datacentre developers in a new datacentre park the AREA Group is currently managing in northern Malaysia.

He manages the design, development, and execution of digital marketing campaigns, resulting in regional awareness of the park, and drives the conversation surrounding national development in the industry. He currently leads multiple sales pitches, effectively communicating prospects to investors.

Prior to his appointment to the AREA Group, he was responsible for the Malaysia, Philippines & Vietnam Markets at W. Media ,a Technology Publisher and Community Hub.

Here he curated, ran and sold sponsorship for the largest cloud and Data Centre conventions in Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam.  He also created valuable marketing and event plans for prominent companies within the Cloud & Data Centre industry. In two years, trained and led a small team to increase show values by an average of 300% and increased audience participation by 100%.

He excels at developing market knowledge and insight, fostering client relations and demonstrates hard work and dedication to achieve results as well as high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

Sr Jamie Tan is a seasoned expert in real estate with an experience across diverse sectors, including commercial, residential, hospitality, industrial, logistics, data centres, agricultural and more. With extensive experience in financial valuations, property and facilities management, capitals market, property development and construction management, he has provided services to clients ranging from major banks to multinational corporations. Notably, Mr. Tan has served as an expert witness in legal proceedings and has contributed significantly to asset valuation and consultancy for prominent organizationssuch as EPF, PNB, KWAP, Khazanah, Lendlease, Intel, Alibaba, Mapletree, Petronas, LOGOS, Dell, HSBC Bank, OCBC Bank, and others.

Before joining JLL, Jamie Tan served as the Managing Director of Appraisal Malaysia, a renowned valuation firm with over 50 years of track record. With close to 30 years of experience in real estate, he brings extensive expertise to his role as Managing Director at JLL, overseeing its expansion and diversification into various real estate services.

Sean Bae brings over a decade of experience to the table as a seasoned senior sustainability manager. Currently serving at Equalbase Development, Sean seamlessly integrates architectural project management with sustainability leadership.

Sean spearheads corporate net-zero initiatives that have led to achievement of Equalbase Development attained Scope 1&2 net-zero status in 2023, earning Low Carbon SG Certification from the UN Global Compact Network Singapore. And looking ahead, Sean’s visionary approach extends with a roadmap to achieve Scope 3 net-zero status by 2040.

Sena is an advocate for continuous professional development, holding certifications in LEED Accredited Professional, Project Management Professional, Universal Design Assessor and GHG accounting and Management. With the comprehensive understanding of sustainability practices, project management principles, and green building innovation, Sean is poised to make great contributions to Building the Future of Real Assets.

Mr. Siva Shanker is a Registered Estate Agent and Property Manager with the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents & Property Manager Malaysia (BOVEAP) with more than 40 years of experience. After working many years with both small and large consultancies, in the year 2004, Siva formed Linear Estates, which he ran for 7 years. In 2016, Siva moved to Axis REIT Managers Berhad as their Head of Investments.

Siva has been an active member of the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) for many years and was its President for the Year 2013/2015. He was awarded the Estate Agent of the Year 2014 by BOVEAP.

In 2019, Siva joined Rahim & Co International Sdn. Bhd. as their CEO, Real Estate Agency. In December 2021, he was awarded the MIEA Lifetime Achievement Award.

In April 2023, Siva was appointed as Adjunct Professor of the Fakulti Alam Bina, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). In November 2023, Siva won the inaugural Chief Executive of the Year Award at the StarProperty Awards.

Trey was first introduced to ESG during his MBA studies in 2016, where he took courses on sustainability and CSR. After discovering a moral desire to be part of this new sustainable world, he decided to get more involved in ESG and reoriented his career from asset management to renewable energy, taking on the role of Sales Director at Inframation – a leading data provider for infrastructure and renewable energy. Later, he dived deeper into the world of ESG and joined GRESB – the world leader in ESG scoring and benchmarking for real assets – where he currently holds the role of Director of Business Development, Asia and manages the company's expanding presence in the continent. Trey holds an MBA from Hult International Business School and a BA in International Relations from the George Washington University.
