The India chapter works closely with Indian government officials and regulators on a range of critical issues.

The top advocacy priorities for 2018 – 2019 are:

  • fine-tune REIT rules (7-point program) and ensure FDI rules are ‘fit for purpose’
  • develop investor awareness campaign, for successful adoption of REITs in India
  • FPI/FII investment rights in relation to real estate corporate bonds
  • Relaxation of conditions applicable to FPI for making debt investments in India
  • Innovative affordable housing solutions and rental housing
